Taking one of our First Aid for Mental Health qualification means your course and award is fully recognised in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland by the official SCQF and RQF educational awarding bodies with a particular focus on mental health in the workplace.

Considerations must be made when integrating Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace.  These considerations include a wider system of support, supervision, guidance, safeguarding and due diligence.

Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health – 2-week course

This course is an introductory course only and does not qualify you as a Mental Health First Aider

 

Total time: 2-hours guided learning and a minimum of 4-hours self-study over a 2-week period.

 

This online qualification provides you with the knowledge to recognise potential early signs of poor mental health, to learn about certain mental health conditions, give you the skills to start a conversation and if necessary, signpost the person towards professional help.

Award in First Aid for Mental Health – 3-week course

This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider

 

Total time: 3-hours guided learning and a minimum of 6-hours self-study over a 3-week period.

 

This online qualification covers the same content as the Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health, but it also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan, and outlines how to support a positive mental health culture in the workplace.

Award in Supervising/Leading First Aid for Mental Health – 6-week course

This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider

 

Total time: 6-hours guided learning and a minimum of 9-hours self-study over a 6-week period.

 

This online qualification covers the content of the Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health and the Award in First Aid for Mental Health, as well as a broader spectrum of mental health conditions and behaviours and the support and assistance provided by healthcare professionals.

Award in First Aid for Youth Mental Health – 3-week course

This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider supporting Young People

 

Total time: 3-hours guided learning and a minimum of 6-hours self-study over a 3-week period.

 

This online qualification has been designed with children and young people in mind (includes all children and young people up to the age of 18). It will provide you with the knowledge and skills to recognise early signs of poor mental health in young people, and give you the skills to start a conversation and if necessary, signpost the young person towards professional help.
