First Aid for Mental Health is a new set of courses for employees, volunteers and individuals. You can choose whether you want the Scottish (SCFQ) or English (RFQ) award.
We deliver online training in-house to your organisation as a group session, or you can book one of our public courses.
We offer three different levels of First Aid for Mental Health courses:
Total time: 2-hours guided learning and a minimum of 3-hours self-study over a 2-week period.
This course will provide you with the knowledge to recognise early signs of poor mental health and suspected mental health conditions, and give you the skills to start a conversation surrounding mental health.
Total time: 3-hours guided learning and a minimum of 4-hours self-study over a 3-week period.
This course covers the content of the Level 1 course but also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.
Total time: 6-hours guided learning and a minimum of 8-hours self-study over a 6-week period.
This course covers the content of Level 1 and 2 plus includes a more thorough analysis of a mental health conditions and disorders and examines the support services provided by healthcare professionals.
